love - lost & found
japanese mask
This is a poem about love turning to jealousy, hate then violence...
Ode to a Menace is from the Japanese love story-cum-thriller A Christmas Cake in Spring
by D. R. Summers
A tainted soul, corrupted mind
Why does such wrath exist?
To turn a love into a hate
A kiss into a fist.

When violence reigns and anger flares
When jealousy dictates
Is there truly no escape?
No way to shut the gate.

Why are so many creatures born
A menace to be feared it?
Yet still there are no weapons
To fend away the tears.

Must it be that in the end
The madness tries the slave?
And freedom for the victim
Lies only in the grave.
